Me and my Temple

Between the age of one and twelve, visiting hospitals and consuming synthetic corticosteroids was part of my life at least a few times a year. This was necessary due to my breathing problems, or to be more precise – my asthma. For those of you who are not aware of it, this is a very common disease of the airways of the lungs. Simply said, life was taking my breath away every now and then.

Luckily, once I became a teenager the disease suddenly disappeared. However, its effects on my well-being and confidence were still alive. Despite of my every day exercising, the medicine combined with my hypothyroidism condition (lack of certain hormones leading to a slow metabolism) made me store great amounts of fat, primarily in my belly and legs. Sadly, I became unsatisfied with my physical appearance which reflected tremendously on my social life.

IMG_20170122_192948_650Until I found the solution: gym and eating healthy lifestyle. I have been actively exercising for the last eight years, learning what works for my body, what affects my mind positively and vice-versa, whilst observing the mistakes of other sports enthusiasts.

I am not going to lie, the process of finding the right formula was long, five to six trainings a week continue to exhaust my body and last but not least, I got various injuries due to the lack of an experience at the beginning.

However, this changed my life in all aspects. It taught me that hard work pays off, that you can overcome any syndrome, disease or genetic limitation and most importantly that my body could still get back to its initial bad look, but my mindset will be changed forever.

Two years ago, I decided to gain further professional knowledge by acquiring the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Degree at the National Strength and Conditional Association. Even though I am now helping clients daily, I observed a trend that worries me. Many proven top athletes use their popularity and the power of Internet to spread across knowledge that is either misleading (due to commercial reasons) or appropriate only for advanced sportsmen.

Therefore, I decided to share my knowledge and experience as an amateur and professional with readers from all around the globe and help them not only achieve their goals but also give them tips how to enjoy and stay in the process for a long time. I will post material once a week, focusing on training, food and nutrition, recovery and health checks.

Stay tuned.
